For properties located inside the cities of Bellville and Sealy you will need to go through the city offices for new addresses.

To request an address you will need to know the PID (property identification number, sometimes referred to as the "R" number). This number can be found on tax statements from the Austin County Appraisal District. Knowing this number when you come into the office or phone in will expedite the process. You can visit the Austin County Appraisal District website and search for the property identification number if you do not have a copy of your tax statement. You will need to enter property owner name.
For all questions concerning building and septic system permits you will need a 9-1-1 address. The environmental office of Austin County handles all permits.

Our computer system is used to assign an address. If we have questions about location of an entrance or structure, we will email you with an aerial view of the property. We will email your 911 address letter to you. We prefer to send the letter via email, but can also send a hard copy by postal service.
